Battelgrounds mobile India also known as BGMI has been removed from the Google Play Store and App store of India without any related formal announcement or such. This has occurred very recently as in just now and is sending a scare to all the players due to the game’s predecessor being banned earlier in the country.

While Krafton is investigating, Google has confirmed the takedown of Battlegrounds Mobile India is a result of the government’s orders. “On receipt of the order, following established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India,” Google said in a statement.

Now many BGMI players from across the country are in for a surprise when they find out that BGMI has unexpectedly been removed from the Google Play Store and apple app store. Recently, the game had collaborated with K-Pop Group Black Pink to host a virtual in-game concert. No search results are being displayed to the Android users and i phone users. However, existing users who have the game installed on their android devices are currently still able to play the game without any issues.

This doesn't seem to be a technical issue with BGMI, as players using iOS devices can still access Krafton's flagship title for India. Given BGMI's sudden removal, numerous rumors and speculations have flooded the internet, with several players indicating that the game has been banned in the country.

The reasons for the removal of BGMI from the Play Store have not surfaced so far, as neither Krafton nor Google have come forward with any explanation on the matter. The developers are yet to acknowledge the matter on their social media handles at the time of writing. Battlegrounds Mobile India or BGMI was suddenly removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store on July 28 raising concerns of another wave of ban on Chinese apps by the Indian government. For those who are unaware, Battlegrounds Mobile India, popularly known as BGMI is the Indian version of online multiplayer battle royal game called PUBG (Players Unknown Battle Ground). South Korean game developing firm Krafton was forced to release an India specific version of the game,BGMI, after the Indian government banned PUBG along with several other popular Chinese apps including TikTok. As of now, Krafton has not released any statement about why the game has been pulled down by Google and Apple but as per a report by TechCrunch, the game has been removed from Google Play Store following orders of the Indian government.”“On receipt of the order, following established process, we have notified the affected developer and have blocked access to the app that remained available on the Play Store in India.” a Google spokesperson has confirmed to TechCrunch.

Although BGMI has been removed from Google Play Store and Apple App Store, it is still working for users who already have it on their smartphones. We tried playing the game after the removal from Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and we were able to access all the game modes and features. As of now, it is not yet known why the Indian government has asked the tech giants to remove the game but the course of action is quite similar to the one we saw when the game’s international edition, PUBG was banned in India.
